چکیده

Natural indexing is an application-oriented description method for nite element meshes. This work describes how the main parts of an adaptive multilevel method for linear triangular nite element methods can be expressed within the framework of natural indexing. Particular emphasis is on the expression of operations that involve hierarchies of meshes such as adaptive re nement, hierarchic coarsening, and interpolation and restriction operations. Natural indexing is of great bene t here since these operations can be described by simple index arithmetic even in the presence of complex geometries. A second important issue addressed by this paper is the observation that a nite element method can be seen as a succession of mesh construction and computation phases. This point has important consequences for the implementation of nite element methods. A Combinatorial Algorithm for Fuzzy Parameter Estimation with Application to Uncertain Measurements

This paper presents a new method for regression model prediction in an uncertain environment. In practical engineering problems, in order to develop regression or ANN model for making predictions, the average of set of repeated observed values are introduced to the model as an input variable. Therefore, the estimated response of the process is also the average of a set of output values where th...

A new method for ordering triangular fuzzy numbers

Ranking fuzzy numbers plays a very important role in linguistic decision making and other fuzzy application systems. In spite of many ranking methods, no one can rank fuzzy numbers with human intuition consistently in all cases. Shortcoming are found in some of the convenient methods for ranking triangular fuzzy numbers such as the coefficient of variation (CV index), distance between fuzzy set...

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids

The weak Lagrange–Galerkin finite element method for the two-dimensional shallow water equations on adaptive unstructured grids is presented. The equations are written in conservation form and the domains are discretized using triangular elements. Lagrangian methods integrate the governing equations along the characteristic curves, thus being well suited for resolving the non-linearities introd...

Application to Adaptive Control to Synchronous Machine Excitation

Self-tuning adaptive control technique has the advantage of being able to track the system operating conditions so that satisfactory control action can always be produced. Self-tuning algorithms can be implemented easily. Because the power systems are usually time varying non-linear systems and their parameters vary, adaptive controllers are very suitable for power systems. Characteristics of a...

Application of triangular functions for solving the vasicek model

This paper introduces a numerical method for solving the vasicek model by using a stochastic operational matrix based on the triangular functions (TFs) in combination with the collocation method. The method is stated by using conversion the vasicek model to a stochastic nonlinear system of $2m+2$ equations and $2m+2$ unknowns. Finally, the error analysis and some numerical examples are provided...
